Kuwait bans flights from 9 African countries due to Omicron
variant
The Kuwaiti General Administration of Civil Aviation announced
Saturday, the suspension of direct commercial flights with South Africa,
Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Lesotho, Eswatini,
Zambia and Malawi, with the exception of cargo planes. The
administration said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that
the institutional quarantine is applied to citizens coming from those
aforementioned countries for a period of seven days, with a PCR
examination performed upon arrival and on the sixth day of the
quarantine. It is forbidden for expats to enter the country if they are
coming from those countries unless they reside outside those countries
for at least 14 days.
Kuwait International Airport nor Kuwaiti land or sea borders will be
closed
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense and Chairman of
the Ministerial Committee for Corona Emergencies Sheikh Hamad
Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah said that “There will be no closure of Kuwait
International Airport, nor Kuwaiti land and sea borders”, following the
emergence of a new mutant Omicron of the Corona virus in some
African countries.

Iraq oil minister says exploration underway at four sites in western
desert
““FORTUNE FAVORS Iraq’s oil minister has said work is underway at four exploration sites in
THE BOLD.” – VIRGIL the country’s western desert. The Iraqi Oil Exploration Company is
handling the exploration work, Ihsan Abdul Jabbar said, adding his
ministry was also cooperating with American companies at other
exploration sites in the Nasiriyah Region. Iraq expects large quantities of
oil reserves in Nasiriyah. The Iraqi cabinet had authorized National Oil
Company (NOC) to negotiate with US group Chevron over development
of oilfields in Nassiriya, in the southern Iraqi province of Dhi Qar.
