In his opening remarks at the meeting, Al-Yahya, who is also the chair ofthe current session, said that holding this gathering in Kuwait representsan important step in enhancing integration frameworks among the GCCnations and addressing regional and international developments thatrequire deeper coordination and more unified positions. %u201cToday, we havea renewed opportunity to build on our achievements and shape a morestable and prosperous future for our region, relying on our shared legacyand an ambitious vision that reflects our people%u2019s aspirations toward unityand comprehensive development,%u201d he said. The minister emphasized thatthe meeting comes at a critical juncture, as the region and the world facegrowing challenges and escalating crises that call for unified action andshared responsibility. He highlighted the importance of intensifiedcoordination in the face of regional security threats, particularly theongoing tragic events in Palestine, especially in Gaza, where Palestinianbrothers continue to suffer.%u201cWe reaffirm our principled and steadfast position in support of the justPalestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people, which areinalienable, especially their right to establish an independent state on theborders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital,%u201d he stated. Healso called on the international community to assume its humanitarian andlegal responsibilities toward the defenseless Palestinian people and tostop the brutal attacks against them.
