TÊTE-A-TÊTE

How did you enter the Shipping Industry? And how did you start sales?
I started my sales carrier in Kuwait with a leading brand in the fashion
industry. Even though I loved this field, there came a tedious moment when I
decided to venture out on another adventure. My Passion for an exciting
career led me to shipping, and as a blessing, I was lucky to join Al Rashed.

For years now, you are associated with Al Rashed. How’s your
             experience working with the team?
After more than a decade, the Four walls of Al Rashed constitute my world. A MANOJ NILESHWAR
                                                                                 BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
world made up of all aspects of shipping, inhabited by people of many
nationalities, culture & character, all focused on building a stronger company - I love this feeling of being a part of
a dedicated and committed family, and I am enjoying every moment here.

Things that keep you inspired to go the extra mile in everyday business?
I am the kind of person who likes trying new things. I am ready to explore new arenas at any point in time,
Whether it’s a new client or principal; maybe this attitude is keeping me in this job after all these years.

What’s your strategy to sail through the COVID -19 pandemic phase?
I cherish my days when I would meet with clients at a Starbucks or some fancy restaurant, exchanging ideas
over coffee or an elaborate platter. With this pandemic situation, we have moved on to Zoom & WhatsApp
meetings, but as we say, “the show must go on”. I hope we all will be back to our good old days.

Tell us about one mistake that became the stepping stone in your professional career?
I cannot recollect an honest mistake, but rather my new age wisdom or god-given instinct that directed me to
change my profession from fashion to shipping can be termed as a turning point that helped me grow as a
professional and carve out a satisfying carrier.

What do you do to unwind?
Friends are my lifeline, and I spend my free time hanging out with them. There was a phase in my life when I
would be filling out my piggy bank with the rewards from my paintings & drawings. My love for paintings is intact,
and I am always there for some healthy discussions and reviews.

One aspect of Sales that you think can be done differently and one thing you really admire about Al
             Rashed?
Every salesperson traverses a narrow bridge, trying to connect product, sales & self-interest with the customer’s
requirements. I believe it’s the right balance of business and ethics which make us successful and remain honest
with our company & customers. Without the guiding hand extended to me by the Al-Rashed management, a
fresher like me would not have succeeded in this competitive field. So a big thank you to the management & the
             entire Al-Rashed team.
