                                              Kuwait Cabinet decides to send oxygen cylinders to India
                                              The Kuwaiti Cabinet during its weekly meeting held on Monday decided
                                              to send oxygen supplies and relief items to India which is facing growing
                                              numbers of deaths and infections of the coronavirus.
                                              The move comes within the framework of the distinguished friendship
                                              ties  between  Kuwait  and  India  that  reflect  solidarity  with  the  friendly
                                              Indian  people.  The  Cabinet  expressed  its  deep  concern  and  regret
                                              about the deteriorating health situation in India due to the spread of the
                                              new mutated strain of the coronavirus, which resulted in growing deaths
                                              and infections due to lack of oxygen in hospitals.

                                              Kuwait to vaccinate 70% of its population within 2 months
                                              Kuwait is close to achieving community immunity as it will most likely
                                              complete the vaccination of 70 percent of the target population within
                                              two months, provided more doses of approved vaccines will arrive in the
                                              country.
                                              The  rate  of  recovery  from  the  virus  compared  to  the  number  of  daily
                                              infections reached 93.8 percent on April 27, compared to 93 percent on
                                              March 27, 93.8 percent in February, 95.6 percent by the end of January,
                                              97.5 percent by the end of December 2020 and 95.4 percent by the end
                                              of November 2020.

                                              All GCC states except Kuwait allow entry of expats with valid visas
                                              All  GCC  countries,  except  for  Kuwait,  are  allowing  expats  with  valid
                                              residency permits, and even those with a valid visit visa to enter, if they
                                              follow  health  and  precautionary  measures  established  to  curb  the
                                              outbreak of COVID-19, Kuwaiti media reported.
                                              Gulf  countries  announced  various  precautionary  measures  to  combat
                                              the  spread  of  coronavirus  and  prevent  the  entry  of  mutated  strains  in
                                              the  country.  Despite  the  ban  by  some  Gulf  countries  such  as  Saudi
                                              Arabia and Oman on direct flights from certain countries with cases of
                                              mutated strains, resident workers were allowed to enter their countries
                                              with  necessary  quarantine  periods.  On  February  7,  2021,  a  Cabinet
                                              decision was issued banning entry of non-Kuwaitis for a period of two

                                               UAE signs $3bn deal to invest in Iraq
                                               The  UAE  has  signed  a  $3  billion  deal  to  invest  in  Iraq  in  an  initiative
                                               which aims to “solidify economic and investment ties, tap fresh prospects
                                               of cooperation, and spur developmental and socio-economic growth in
                                               Iraq”,  according  to  a  report  from  state-run  news  agency  WAM.  The
                                               report  said:  “The  new  investments  are  aimed  to  tap  new  prospects  of
                                               partnerships between the two countries and accelerating socio-economic

                                               The  two  sides  agreed  to  grow  economic  cooperation  and  accelerate
                                               trade and investment exchanges.
