                                    Qatar%u2019s Marsa free zone maritime development project will soonbecome home to a newly-developed Milaha Yachts and ShipsYard, following an agreement between Qatar Navigation(Milaha) and Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZ).According to Milaha, %u201cThe agreement and new facility willreaffirm Milaha and QFZ%u2019s commitment to support Qatar%u2019sgrowing position as a global maritime services hub, aiming tocreate new job opportunities, with a focus on prioritising theattraction of Qatari talent.%u201dThe Milaha Yachts and Ships Yard will be located at Marsa portwithin the Umm Alhoul Free Zone and will cover a total area of22,000 m2. It is expected to include two covered sheds, threeworkshops and an expansive open yard, making it well suitedfor a wide range of services. The project seeks to meetincreasing demand for maintenance services for luxury yachts,naval ships, and wooden boats, as well as refits, exteriorupgrades, modifications and repairs.Marsa port is located adjacent to Hamad Port and has a 7.5 mdeep draught. It serves as a base for companies to conduct avariety of activities, including vessel building and repair,internal design and fit-out and ship provisions supply.
