AMIR RECEIVES CONGRATULATIONS ON REIGN
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received on
Wednesday congratulatory cables from the GCC, Arab and world leaders on the
occasion of the 14th anniversary of his office assumption. In the cables, they
expressed their sincere wishes for His Highness, with full health and wellness, and
for the State of Kuwait further progress, growth and prosperity under the wise
leadership of His Highness.
ASSETS, LOW DEBT, SOUND BANKS PROP KUWAIT RESILIENCE
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) issued Monday, the final statement
prepared by its mission in Kuwait from Jan 7 to 20 in the framework of the periodic
consultations for 2020, which showed that the growth of the local economy reached
0.7 percent in 2019. The Governor of the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) Dr
Mohammad Al-Hashel, in a statement to KUNA, outlined the mission’s final
statement content and the nature of the structural challenges facing the Kuwaiti
economy and the ways to confront them.
Food delivery companies to merge
The Berlin-headquartered group Delivery Hero that operates different companies
and brands has decided to integrate its operations across all its markets in the Gulf
including Kuwait, with Carriage gradually getting absorbed by Talabat and other
Delivery Hero brands in the region. In all of its markets, Carriage’s operations will
be absorbed by Talabat and except Saudi, Talabat will be the only Delivery Hero
brand serving these markets.
