A Healthy Lifestyle at Work
Let's all agree not to disagree on the fact that every employer (yours or mine) predominantly has
their watchful eyes on their staff. They are in Treasure Hunt mode searching for staff who works
diligently, prompt and punctual, people who are willing to uphold the organisational priorities
more than their own. Its also true many of us strive hard to fall into their good books too.
Its also true that these qualities are deterred and short lived when the staff goes overboard. The
foremost reason is due to the deteriorating health which is consequently due to the stress
accepted by the staff in order to be noticed by their colleagues or management.
Let me forewarn you, an unhealthy staff is like the recent Pandemic, very contagious and fatal for
an healthy organization. If a worker is ill, irrespective of their designation, it will disturb the daily
work routine and pace of work within the entire organization. The absent employee’s work has to
be compensated by other team members that in turn put unnecessary stress on other staff that
will lead to poor productivity and outcome, resulting in not achieving the set targets. Moreover,
when the employee is back to work, again have to put in extra effort to update him/her.
With all these stress looming above you, like the sword of Damocles , staying healthy is a
challenge. Promoting healthy life style within the organisation is very crucial. I have done a small
research on the said topic and my finding has been incorporated as Tip for a ready reference.
Educating Employees the Importance of Work Life Balance : The HR Department has to
educate employees about the need to differentiate official and personal time. Its important for
staff to evaluate and give priorities for official while at work and vice versa while at home. Adher
to the working hours and give time for your family. Exercise and rest well to arrive at office fresh
and regular
