CEO'S OUTLOOK
In the tough times of lockdowns and pandemic, our minds were conflicted with the stress and worries of the
pandemic. While the pandemic's grip was easing on many countries, some countries (India, Brazil etc) saw
a spike in the cases. While India was reeling from an oxygen shortage following a COVID case spike, the
world rallied behind India with support, just as India aided the globe during COVID’s first wave in 2020.
Kuwait has been in solidarity with India with a commitment of over 1400 MT of liquid oxygen to be sent to
India over the next few weeks. In May 2021, as part of India’s Seabridge agreement with Kuwait, over
600MT has been loaded on Indian Navy vessels (INS Kochi, INS Tabar, INS Kolkata, INS Shardul) and
commercial vessel MV Cape Kettleman. The tanks are being returned to Kuwait for refilling on Indian
Airforce aircraft.
Public Authority for Industry (PAI), along with various ministries of the Kuwait Government, Kuwait Port
Authority, Kuwait Customs and the Indian Embassy in Kuwait, have been working tirelessly to procure and
sending oxygen and supplies to India.
Kuwait stands with the world in the time of need and ensures to support and aid with necessities required.
I would like to thank the authorities of PAI, KPA and various ministries for this gesture of goodwill and
support to India.
I would like to specially thank HE Mr. SIbi George, Indian Ambassador to Kuwait,Mr. Abdulkareem Taqi,
General Manager, PAI and Sheikh Yousef Al Abdullah, General Manager, KPA for their unending support in
expediting the movement.
It is indeed a feather on our cap to be the logistics partner for this humanitarian initiative.
This is a moment of heartiness and joy. We at Al-Rashed International Shipping Co./Freight/Aviation have
once and again proven that we are capable of doing our best even with a paucity of time.
I would like to take this moment to congratulate each one of you associated with the oxygen movement to
India.
