KSE installs first public e-vehicle charging station
The Kuwait Society of Engineers (KSE) launched the first public charging station
for electronic vehicles at its headquarters in Bneid Al-Gar on 25th Nov 2019. The
station is located in the parking lot of the society and will operate 24/7 free of
charge. It can charge up to two vehicles at a time. During the launch ceremony
yesterday, an electronic vehicle demonstrated the charging process.Dr Bader Al-
Twayel, Head of the Sustainable Energy Committee at KSE, said this is the first of
its kind (public charging) station for electronic vehicles in Kuwait. “We hope that
soon, more stations will be available in Kuwait. This station is available for the
public free of charge,” he told Kuwait Times.
KD 130 health insurance fees eyed from 2020
The health ministry and the Health Assurance Hospitals Company (Dhaman) have
started coordinating to prepare a work plan to implement new health insurance
fees on expats by the beginning of 2020, said official sources. The sources added
that a media campaign will be rolled out to explain the new health insurance
mechanism to expats, bearing in mind that the new fee would be KD 130 per expat
working in the private sector and the same for each of their dependents.
Renewal of Driving License goes online for all
General Traffic Department affiliated to Ministry of Interior will launch an online
service for the renewal of driving licenses from 16th Nov, reports Al-Seyassah
daily.Those seeking to renew their licenses can visit the website of Ministry of
Interior where they have to carry out the necessary procedures. After they
complete the procedures, they will be able to receive their licenses from the self-
service machines which will be installed in various locations.In the initial phase, the
machines will be installed in the Avenues Mall in Shuwaikh area, Al-Kout Mall in
Fahaheel area, service centers at Ministry of Interior, and General Department for
Traffic Violations in Capital and Hawally areas.
