Kuwait among top 20 countries in Ease of Doing Business 2020 index
Kuwait was ranked among the top 20 countries in the Ease of Doing Business 2020
index, out of 190 countries, said Kuwait Direct Promotion Authority (KDIPA). Kuwait
has made progress under the reforms carried out in six elements, namely starting
commercial activity, obtaining electricity, registering property, obtaining credit and
protecting minority investors’ rights and cross-border trade, it added.KDIPA noted
that the importance of this Kuwaiti achievement stems from its direct and indirect
repercussions on making the investment climate in Kuwait more attractive and is
conducive to achieving the national vision 2035 and its development goals, which
increases the efficiency of the economic cycle and real job opportunities for the
national workforce.
Security level at Kuwait ports fortified
Minister of Commerce and Industry, and Minister of State for Services Affairs Khalid
Al-Roudhan issued a decision on 22nd Sept to fortify security alert in the ports
facilities to the topmost level, reports Al-Anba daily.In a statement issued by Kuwait
Ports Authority on Friday, Ministerial Decision Number 448 stipulates that the
fortified security level should cover all oil and commercial ports facilities across the
country. The security alert is to protect the nation while guaranteeing safety of its
territories and ports amidst the situation in the region.
Expats to renew residence online very soon

residency electronically, in a step towards the completion of technical services and
the application of e-government, to eliminate the paperwork and reduce the
congestion in the corridors of ministries reports Al QabasThe Ministry of Interior, is
preparing to launch a new system to renew the residencies of Article 18 for civil
sector workers, in October, in order to serve more than 3 million expatriates in the
country.This service, which will be launched by the Ministry of Interior through its
website where it will be possible to renew the residence of the expatriate and his
wife and children automatically without going to the passport offices/residence
affairs in their governorates, nor carrying documents to review, this project is the
