Tell us about one mistake that became the stepping stone in your professional career?
I am not sure if many are aware, but I joined Al-Rashed as a sales executive. Though my area of study was finance,
my work experience was in sales. But within a month, realizing my slackitude in sales or maybe recognizing I had
more potential in finance, Mr Ravi moved me to the finance department. I was kind of a rookie in accounts, who did
not have much exposure in the field. My accounting basics were rusty & with no shipping experience, it was pretty
tough. Mistakes were quite often & had to go back to correct them each time. But over time, I realized that the lack of
traditional accounting experience helped me in gaining a new perspective of shipping accounts, which is quite different
from the traditional one. I went around all departments, even working with them for a few hours & understanding how
they function. Combining this knowledge with the accounting concepts to be applied, it presented a clearer vision on
how to deal with the situation in hand. I was able to assess & perform accounting jobs keeping in mind how the
related shipping activities function. This turned out to be more effective than my initial approach. Results were
promising, and my accounting work improved massively. Most importantly, I was able to connect with other shipping
activities & this helped me immensely in my career.

             What's your pastime activity?
I am a huge movie buff. I love action, horror, mystery & sci-fi movies. I also love reading comics & am an avid action
             figure collector.

An advise that you would like to give to the newcomers?
Remember that no one wins all the time. Because success is driven in part by luck, there will inevitably be times when
you work hard, but for a variety of reasons doesn't do well. Don't give up. I feel talent is a lot more ubiquitous than we
think. What most people lack is dedication, which is why much of that talent never sees the light of day. There is no
dearth of talent- just deficiency of devotion. There are so many reasons to stop. The ones that don't are the ones who
             win. Be the one wh
